More than half (58%) of consumers believe that subscription services are a “great way to make Christmas last all year” according to new research from subscription platform Bango.

The research, which surveyed over 2000 consumers, found that 29% of shoppers prefer gifting subscriptions at Christmas to avoid the chore of wrapping presents.

According to the survey, the most requested subscription gifts in the UK were for video streaming subscriptions such as Netflix and Disney +, gaming subscriptions, shopping subscriptions, subscriptions to music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, and health and fitness subscriptions.

Bango subscriptions expert Giles Tongue said: “While video subscriptions are on top when it comes to Christmas gifts, this trend extends far beyond just streaming services. Today’s shoppers are embracing hundreds of different subscriptions, from meal kits to educational courses.
