The BBC is showcasing the versatility of its iconic iPlayer streaming service with a series of humorous vignettes that illustrate all the different ways in which people use the platform.

Developed by in-house agency BBC Creative, the films variously show iPlayer’s reality TV, crime drama, sci-fi, film and cartoon offering – demonstrating the broad appeal of its new and existing programmes.

“We know that iPlayer cheers our audiences up after a tough day at work, cures a hangover and can help fill an awkward silence,” BBC creatice ECD, Rasmus Smith Bech said.

“Having the iconic Robert Webb bring these scenarios to life was a dream. I hope viewers at home will enjoy watching them as much as we enjoyed making them.”

Set to run from January next year, the short films will run across the breadth of the BBC media portfolio and will be supported by additional out-of-home, social media and radio executions.
